If here wouldn't have been any innovation of INTERNET , there wouldn't have been something like Malware, Spyware , Phishing, Botnet, Trojen and to new day "Hybrid Warfare", as we've seen the examples in the form of Cyberwarfare, where India continuously facing the wrath of the Chinese cyber intrusion and most recent in Ladakh. This gives a new pharse that "Data is a new oil".
This INTERNET and data made many new corporates like you can say giant like Google, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft and many more and many more are coming everyday like a Tsunami and storming our lives and giving us new experiences and to large extent threat of privacy. Humans were made to driven by emotions and work on emotional intelligence but we found ourselves paralyzed and manipulated by these giants and handed over our daily beings on the unreliable corporates with our reliable DATA. Backdoor Data selling made these companies more profit mongering and mammoth as in an about 15-20% of there CAGR comes directly from data selling to various governments and e-commerce companies to impact your lives on daily basis. Although corporates never overtly accepted that, they breached any of the societal laws or breach of privacy of their user but large of chunk of your information has been holded by them since you knocked their door to enjoy the services what they are providing you with such ease with negotiable or neglectable terms and conditions and privacy policy.
After installing their apps you willingly and in reluctance of attraction of the apps gives them permission to look into your personal datas, which are so beneficial for them to recommend you something of what you like and what you don't. Google, the most widely used searched engine replacing many of like that, manipulates you to look into the things of your choices and as soon you enter without letting you know you made to compromise with some of your top secrets datas and most of the time even if you're location is turn off still through some other apps who are in cooperation with Google track your location like a witch. Company's share prices which were once at $300 came down to $90 by this year and Zuckerberg wealth down from $140 billion to $35 billion and revenue came down to almost 70% as investor started to loose their interest, Zuckerberg renamed the company with META to introduce virtual reality for their users but an obsolete idea, as it would have been worked during pandemic as people at home but now everything are reachable and meetable , how far you would love to spend your time something on which you can feel the virtuality. And with the coming of new apps like Tik-Tok, Instagram , Snapchat, etc, Facebook lost consumers, although acquired Whatsapp and Instagram to be in the business but failed to uplift itself and by last day start the layoffs on mass basis.
Amazon, Flipkart , Snapdeal like such companies steal your datas and sell them to the manufacturing companies who posts their products on their applications. Artificial Intelligence made the things more worst, as if you think anything at the very moment when you start to scroll to internet you'll get the suggestions related to the very thing you were thinking of. Google, Facebook like companies they never established any local server in the country where they are providing the services, gives them access to uncontrolled access and allow them to keep themselves out of the government regulations. For this government of India asked the google but google denied and also neglected the demand of tax of 2% by saying that we're virtually providing the services to your citizens and this is not our country of origin.
DATA Regulating Laws

To control and regulate the datas European Union came up with a solution by making a law on it naming General Data Protection Regulations for the European Union and European Economic Area. GDPR is an important tool to safeguard the privacy of the citizens and to safeguard the human laws from any external manipulate under Article 8 of the Fundamental Rights of the European Union. Under this law a service providing company must ensure things like , Purpose limitation, Data minimization, Organizations collecting data must ensure its accuracy and update it as necessary, Storage limitation, Integrity and confidentiality. In India The Data Protection Act was introduced in 2019 and is currently pending in parliament as there were some flaws in the proposed bill. The main objective was to accord a set of rights to individuals, i.e., Data Principles, and impose a set of responsibilities on Data Fiduciaries (any organisation or private company collecting data).
In Anuradha Bhasin Judgement- The Supreme Court has declared access to internet a fundamental right. A government cannot deprive the citizens of fundamental rights except under certain conditions explicitly mentioned in the Constitution. And put it under Article 21, which can't be detained.
Way Forward :-
1) There must be awareness about the access given by the consumers of their datas.
2) Governments must sign kind of MoU with data dealing companies to not to compromise on the datas of consumers without their consent. As this comes under corporate ethics.
3) Online e-commerce companies shouldn't bother the users by the repititive ads on their pages.
4) RBI's Tokenization method a really appreciatable initiative to put your data under the mat, so e-commerce companies won't get access to many of your personal information.
5) Companies must establish a local server for the particular country which will only for the a particular nations.
